Five of us walked a six mile route around Slaidburn today. Only supposed to be about five miles but we went seriously wrong somewhere & must have walked at least an extra mile......in the rain too!
Fabulous views & the River Hodder meandered along side us for some of the way.
I have been lax with the commenting again over the last week of so but hopefully I will be back to normal from this week.....thank you all so much for continuing to comment on my photos.
Three good things:
1. Living in such a beautiful place,
2. Mrs Kirkhams Farmhouse cheese for lunch.
3. The Open Golf...wish it had been at Lytham St Anne's I would have been there for a £10 ticket for the extra day!
A stunning landscape and the walkers adding an extra interest -- so you can view awhile on the beautiful scenery then glance at the upward struggle of the walkers as they come up the slope !! --has to be a fav for the scenery alone Pat !
You really all are rugged up! Good to have dry and warm feet though when walking! You seem to be walking over farmland - it always amused me how walkers in England were allowed to do this! Not here!
@maggiemae yes we are walking over farm land...some of it had been muck spread too...as for the feet mine were soaking wet...my boots leak if they are wet for a long time!
@maggiemae Btw we can only wLk along public footpaths not private land. Some farms have footpaths across them, our old farm at Inglewhite had a path but we didn't have any oaths on our land here
Don't you hate it when that happens, I was on a supposedly 13-mile walk once, long enough, but the leader went very seriously wrong and we ended up doing 17 miles! Gorgeous green here.
This shot really tells a story. Brilliant. What a bunch of brave souls you are. Is this summer? It looks colder than our winter.
I love how the English countryside looks like a patchwork.
