Alnwick Castle is where Harry Potter was filmed of course. It dominates the town, we saw a bride standing on a small hill outside the town when we were on our way out. She had the Castle as background...I was dying to turn round & take a photo too but I wasn't allowed! She looked lovely too!
We are in Northumberland this weekend to visit my elderly uncle who is in his nineties.
Staying at the The Allenton Inn, a blind sort of booking last night but it's very nice & has wifi so it passes it's test with flying colours!
We stayed at the Collingwood Arms last time but no wifi so we are having a change this time.
Three good things:
1. A new raincoat.
2. Very quiet roads on the way thank goodness as it was pouring down.
3. Apricot & almond scones in a cafe in Alnwick.
It looks cold as well as wet but would be an interesting town to explore. I do like the sound of apricot and almond scones! Who wants a common old date one!
Well captured street view with all those cars !! Shame you didn't have a shot of the bride ! Never mind the scones sound lovely and enjoy you weekend !
Love this wonderful view of Alnwick! Such character and charm. Would love to have seen the bride at Alnwick Castle...what a backdrop for a wedding portrait. Enjoy your weekend visit!
Lovely street scene. It is beginning to look rather cold in the UK. Pity you couldn't get a photo of the bride. Scones sound a great substitute though.
