On my way back from our daughters I saw this magnificent magnolia tree, had to turn round & take a shot.
Another glorious day with blue skies. I hope it lasts at least over the weekend.
Three good things:
1. We have our grandson William arriving for three weeks tomorrow. He is bringing his girlfriend so I really hope the weather is kind to them while they are here.
2. Fridge stocked up ready for hungry young ones.
3. Trees coming into leaf rapidly!
Beautiful tree PaT. They ae magnificent when in full bloom. We seem to have gone from winter to summer here. Very strange weather but this sunshine is very welcome
What glorious sight Pat -- the blue sky with the splendid pink blossom of the Magnolia in front of the whitewashed house -- A beautiful picture ! fav So you have been busy in prep of William and girlfriend's visit - I hope that this good weather will last for them ! Have a good weekend !
@thistle@beryl magnolia are lovely when they are in bloom but disappointing afterwards don't you think? Yes have got the fridge & deepfreeze stocked up. They are here for three weeks so think they will eat plenty! Of course they will be going off to sightsee various places so will be coming & going. They have come from wintry North America & going into winter NZ so do hope they get some lovely warm weather!
Looks like a blossom tree with all those flowers! They must be doing something right with a magnolia. As you say, they do brown off so quickly.
Hope you get on with William's girlfriend - she will be a bit nervous too - and three weeks is a long visit!
@maggiemae I think so, I have met her once but hope she feels at home quickly. I shall let them do as they please! I have one week before I fly out after they go home too so they will be sick of me by the time I come home! They have hired a car so are free to go anywhere they feel like.
@julzmaioro Yes it will be fun! Lydia is looking forward to seeing William, they were always good friends when they were little! You notice @maggiemae is not far from the Nicau cafe area, you remember we met there for the first time! I think you would like it there too maggie! Quite a drive north from Raglan but we went quite a lot when in that area.
@pdulis Oh you're in Canada, how lovely, I believe it's a beautiful country, one of our wishes would be to travel across Canada on the train one day. Seem to spend all out time & money going the other way to NZ though! Such long winters everywhere this year! Hope you warm up soon!

Winter seems to be never ending in Canada this year ...
