This is a very famous thoroughfare in Edinburgh.
The main road in the Old Town it leads to the Castle on the hill & from the gates is almost a mile long & links Edinburgh Castle with Holyrood Palace.
Harry & I watched this street artist from Canada for ages.
As you can see he had quite a crowd round him & he had us all sort of mesmerised.
Three good things:
1. Less stiff today!
2. Lots of B&Bers in this week!
3. I bought two lovely sweaters in Edinburgh, I still like them at home! No buyers remorse!
I love this walk down tp Holyrood..oooh two nice jumpers..i think Edinburgh is,always busy..i got a tartan wool blanket last week.just cover the sofa for the dog..made
in Scotland washed and its such good quality
Too good for the dog !
@brennieb Great value Brenda, I love a good browse in a Charity shop! Jumpers were from posh shops, you know me I have expensive tastes! One was Christmas present from Harry! @sarah19 I haven’t bought a jumper for ages & have been loath to use the ones I had as I wanted to keep them looking good. I can now be warm everyday day this winter.
@julzmaioro the crowd was round the comedian/ escape artist Julz! He had us all in palm of his hand....I put good money in his bag like everyone else.....was in holiday mode!
Super shot Pat - love those old tall buildings flanking each side of the street . I wondered what the crowd was all about - great to watch an artist at work - I wonder di he get nervous or was he accustomed to it ! Nice to purchase nice goods to remind you of your trip !
I've never seen the Royal Mile! To be royal I thought means the royals were driven up and down. Maybe they did when James the VI lived there!
I bet those woollen jerseys are soft and warm!
@maggiemae Well it was the main road between the castle & the place maggie so they would be driven up & down here. Lots of history too much to go into here! Yes one is cashmere...lucky me!
@quietpurplehaze Yes the whole road is beautiful Hazel, I was really taken with it. Lots of tartan & kilt shops asyou woukd imagine but not too commercialised!
