Sunday walk by happypat

Sunday walk

Cathy & I had a round about walk down the Lancaster canal past Barton Grange & along the road back to the car.
It did us good & we caught up with news as we walked.
Taken from the bridge at Bilsborrow.

Three good things:
1. Past the 8000 steps mark on the Fitbit.
2. A hint of sun today.
3. Delicious roast potatoes.
What a gorgeous scene and pov - looking down onto the canal with all its boats , the watery blue sky and its reflections an the canal ! Much nicer day than we had today - a dull drizzly day FAV

That's a lovely pov on the canal! No roast potatoes here today but Moroccan fish stew cooked by Neil. We had sun all day and it was very nice. Ray and I took a walk around the block.

@beryl @quietpurplehaze @gijsje

Isn’t it funny, we look at views like this & think that’s nothing special but it’s all I’ve got, you forget that if others haven’t seen this place before they might like it more. I was not excited about putting this photo up today so many thanks to you all.

Beautiful scene

There would be so much to see along a canal including the boats! Nice level walking too! I find roast potatoes are difficult to get all crisp and crunchy on the outside and soft and fluffy on the inside. I'm sure restaurants deep fry them at the end of their cooking!

This is such a pleasant scene to look at and nothing like we have around here! fav

Lovely shot Pat! love the curve of the canal that makes you want to see round the corner!

Such a lively scene and obviously a great place to walk.

@maggiemae I’m quite good at roast potatoes though I say it myself! I always par boil them for a few minutes, drain them, out the lid back on & shake until the sides are fluffed up a bit. Put them in very hot fat in oven & roast. Sorry I’m sure you know how to do it anyway but just showing how I do it.

@joansmor @essiesue @willowdragon @allie912

Thank you all....I never thought about the bend in the canal, I know what’s round the corner so can’t imagine you don’t know either!! 🤓
The walk is just long enough & a circular route with a toilet if needed at the garden centre....ideal!

@sarah19 Bilsborrow, yes it is quite a nice name, Cathy lives on the edge, half way to where we used to live in Inglewhite.

.... and I like your three good things, I may have to start that. I’ve been doing gratitude list for a while it’s very similar, but I like the idea of combining it with my photo for the day!

What a lovely scene, such a lovely place for a stroll. I went to a fete at Barton once while we were on our way home from visiting David's brother in Preston.
