Typically it’s a lovely sunny day today after yesterday’s terrible weather......
All dried out now & boots & clothes washed.
Three good things:
1. I did a bit of touching up with the paint brush.
2. I sorted out some queries about a TV licence that wasn’t required.
3. Rang to ask for a plastic bag so we could send our old broadband hub back as requested. It took me ten minutes to order it....the chap & I were laughing as it took so long. He said ‘your order has been placed’ I said you mean the free plastic bag...I said it must be a very special bag! No wonder there are queue waiting to speak to someone!
Oh dear does look a bit miserable.. been to the Waikato field days in weather like that.. no pleasant..
Why are some things made so difficult.. not just straight forward for a simple task.. grrrr
Ooh Pat - Sod's law ,not for only dampening your enjoyment of the show but all the work and cost of putting up such a show by all concerned . But a well captured scene of the show ground , mud and rain !
@julzmaioro I think the field must be a mess today...they were towing cars out of the car parks! My car would still be there now if we had gone in that...we had to be towed out once, always go in Harry’s 4Wheel drive now!
@beryl Luckily it wasn’t cold Beryl although when you are wet through you do go chilly....Luckily they still get the numbers through the gates whatever the weather, it’s well supported by hardy folks. Felt sorry for the school kids walking round in the wet...some of the little ones looked bedraggled...even more sorry for the poor teachers....I’m sure they must hate that day.
Regarding your number 3, the worst thing that happened to customer service is the massive call centers where we are literally just a number, not really a person. Here companies drive you to call centers, heaven forbid that you would actually want to see a person at a store. Or, they drive you to websites, they don’t even want you to talk to the phone center. A huge sore spot with me. And all the follow up email surveys, oh my. I wish your photo was my photo, we are so dry here.
@louannwarren Just shows you should never grumble about too much rain Lou Ann! Customer service sounds grim in your area ....it’s not that hot here but I can honestly say my phone call to BT was perfect even if they did keep me waiting for a good ten minutes...a plastic bag to send the hub back is hopefully on its way. The staff on the other end of the phone are always unfailingly polite. Too many button options when you ring is my bugbear...press option 1 etc etc!
I'm surprised that so many people still attended! I guess its such a good show they wouldn't want to miss it - like you!
John had to get a blood test and was given a number (its a really small clinic) and he absolutely refused to use it!
You can't easily predict what tomorrow will be like up here either and the grass gets longer and wonder if it will be dry enough to cut .....we need to borrow a goat I think!
