A super day weather wise for the annual tractor run through the centre of Garstang.
All collected in Booths car park & any other spare park around there must have been about ninety tractors today.
Quite a sight to see & the town was buzzing with people watching, meeting up & eating at the various food stalls.
Booths cafe was busy too!
Three good things:
1. Britain’s farming is alive & well!
2. The kids all enjoyed it!
3. Collections for Garstang children’s festival.
@julzmaioro No he didn’t Julz...we haven’t got the means of getting it there these days...he’s happy just to look! They ride all around the country roads so it’s quite a trip! There will be a video out soon.
I can just imagine the noise too! Wouldn't hear yourself think! Men and their tractors - John is continually pointing out tractors (wee fergies) wherever we go!
I have a video but don’t know how to put it on 365 or whether it’s even possible but yes some were noisy...some hooted their horns which was exciting fir the kids....thank for looking!
Is there a reason or tradition for this tractor parade? Rather neat to see them going down that narrow street. I imagine some tractors are too big for this street!
@farmreporter They fit in very well Wendy....I think they do it just for a tradition....it’s farming community & its a chance of a get together raising money for the children’s festival in May.
What a great idea for a fund raiser! And, I find that it brings awareness to those not in the farming community, to help them remember where their food comes from.
