Shrove Tuesday

Pancake day!

We love pancakes & never can understand why we don’t have them more often...I say this every year!
We had three each but I slipped up & forgot to buy a lemon which spoilt it somewhat.

Three good things:
1. I don’t know whether it’s a good thing or not but I have been trawling the internet for face masks. I really don’t think we will need them but did think if others are wearing them we might wish we had a couple. An aircraft is not the healthiest place to spend 25 hours in....the prices & length of delivery time was incredible...all coming from China...you wouldn’t want one of those, delivery in April!
2. I bought a pack of three for under £5 delivery on Saturday. One company wanted over £30 for delivery in next few days...it’s laughable!
3. I have invested a nose spray for nose hygiene, Dettol wipes etc etc! Be like a girl guide & Be Prepared!

They look delicious - I didn't realised it was Shrove Tuesday till I saw it o the TV ! , fancied them but just didn't feel like making them ! AND I had only a Jiff lemon in the fridge - I always have a jiff lemon in the fridge which I like to squirt on my salmon ! may make pancakes tomorrow !

@beryl Well it was just what they said on the news about Dubai...apparently lots of Iranians live in Dubai & it’s quite bad in Iran...thought we might put them on in the airport while we are in transit. At least we have a choice.

I do like hearing what others say about this dish. We used to always have pancakes for breakfast when the children were growing up! One grandchild kept wanting more so I thought, I'll teach him..and kept making them! He ate 11!
Very wise to be prepared. Washing hands for 20secs is vital too!

Looks very nice and palatable. We took face masks with us to Rome but we didn't wear them at any time. Of all the thousands of people we encountered there we only saw about 5 or 6 people wearing face masks. However in one week's time things have changed drastically in Italy, it seems from what we see on the Italian. The Coronavirus has reached to Sicily now and that is very close for our comfort even more because most of our trade passes through Sicily.

I say every Year too we should have pancakes more often. We actually forgot this year so maybe will have them at a later date. I'm Thinking the same about masks Pat, and have even said we should stock up the larder just in case! Probably not necessary but a friends daughter has just come back from Italy skiing and they have closed the school down temporarily! Its a funny old world at the moment 😣

@sangwann Poor Italy can’t believe how it’s spread there, really reminds you how easy these bugs spread. Hope you are not affected at all in your business although it’s starting to really bite now....running out of essential parts...it will cost the business world dear. Interesting to hear it’s as far down as Sicily, only reported in the north of the country on our news bulletins!
