I had to go into Blackpool so as Harry was watching the British Grand Prix I decided to go today.
I was a bit worried I must say but was pleasantly surprised at the reasonably quiet town.
The shops were really quiet except they were queuing at Primark.
More people on the promenade but not being silly. There was a fresh breeze so I felt safe enough to cross the road & take a photo of the beach. The tide was going out so I expect the beach is much busier now, it’s a very nice evening too.
Three good things:
1. My journey was a waste of time but I got lots of walking done & I liked the change of scene.
2. I used Sainsbury’s large free newish car park. A bit further to walk but there was plenty of spaces.
3. A phone call from our granddaughter in NZ.
I do like the light on the other side of the pier! Outlines the pier structure so well! Wasn't there a fire there recently? Good to see the distancing - covid cases kept under 1000 so far!
Lovely scene and capture. We drove to Blackpool once when my son was living in the Midlands. It looked so ugly on that day with the sky completely overcast and almost deserted.
@sangwann Ha ha well I’m sorry to say it can still look ugly...not my favourite place but we rarely go...it’s not bad out if season. The beach is fabulous, it’s the rest of it sometimes!
