Loved the name of this barge, it’s one I haven’t see before.
The canal is lovely just here, it flows over the River Wyre by an aqueduct.....I walked along the river yesterday then climbed up lots of steps the the canal path above.
Very busy boating community too, lots of activity.
Three good things:
1. I have had a massive packing up of our clothes today. All the things we won’t wear until next Spring are packed away in boxes. One big one for me & a much smaller one for Harry who is very good at not having anything in his wardrobe he won’t wear...I tell him it different for a man! A few shirts, trousers & he’s sorted!
2. We are using up as much as possible out of the deep freeze so it’s roast beef, roast potatoes & Yorkshire puddings for evening meal tonight! Plenty of it too as it’s a big piece of beef I got for when the kids came home & never used. Can’t invite anyone to share it sadly either! We are not allowed! 😨
3. I set up a standing order online for the first time...Pleased with myself!
@thewatersphotos Lots of history connected with canals Gary...an early way of transporting things such as coal. The horses used to drag the barges along the tow path...many canals go through the centre of towns for that very reason. Now used for leisure purpose.
Lovely photo and weather looking good.
I think I should pack away all my lightweight clothes too even if we aren't going anywhere!!! Good for Harry .....Allan could do with that philosophy!!! He has more favourite shirts than I could even say!!!!! And lots of paper treasure. 😄😄
Lovely capture of this pretty canal. I have a large piece of ham that needs to be used from our freezer too - it is tricky when there's no prospect of guests!
What a lovely spot for a walk.. what a mission for you with sll thr packing..
Sounds like it will be cottage pie for a couple of nights aswell.. love Yorkshires..
@sarah19 I see Harry has put a only worn once pair of beige chinos in the charity pile...such useful trousers but he doesn't like colour...I shall fish them out again & hide them in my box!
If you wear beige trousers, you can't wear black shoes! John has beige trousers but has beige shoes that he only wears with those trews. Else it is always jeans. What a neat looking boat - I would like to be in that drifting up the canal! Comfortably numb!
@maggiemae Harry wears jeans pretty much all the time, ordinary ones for everyday & posh ones for better then a suit occasionally & lighter trousers & shorts for NZ. Harry wore the beige trousers in NZ last.
Cool name, lots of fun! Sounds like a lot of achievements - well done. If I were nearer, I would come and share that beef - you could leave me a plate down the garden!!
Beautiful scene and capture. My daughter packed everything she had and stored them in two leased garages when she, her husband and Max moved out of her house to a temporary lodging until her new residence was renovated. It took them
a two years until they entered their new house. She is still sorting things up after two months since she moved in.
@sangwann Oh wow that was a long time...she must have forgotten what she had packed up...like Christmas opening thise boxes! Our main furniture is going into store & we are taking the very basic to use while in the bungalow. We move out if there beginning of January until April when we’re hoping most of the work will be done....fingers crossed!
