Just a quick upload tonight...filling my slot for the date, no need to comment!
This is my sister in laws hen field. All the hens are inside by law at the moment because there is bird flu about.
Sad for them as the love being out.
Harry goes every morning at 7am to help his sister clean them out & change their water & feed them.
She had an operation so he’s been helping her.
I walked past here today on my walk & it was sad not to see all her hens out scratching in the snow.
Three good things:
1. Orange Smarties.
2. It snowed a bit...just enough to look pretty then thankfully stopped again.
3. I’m watching Anne with an E on Netflix....lots of you will know the Anne of Green Gables books....it’s very nice to watch while in lockdown!
As if coronavirus and seasonal flu aren't enough! Unbelievable that the chickens are in lockdown for bird flu. I haven't heard about that being an issue in the US. Will have to do some research.
I am confused about the laws regarding keeping hens in because I cannot find any updates on the situation so interested to read they are still to stay in. Ours hate it but the garden is recovering!!! Your sister in laws hens have an amazing area to free range!
I am loving Anne with an E and binge watched about 4 episodes tonight. Cliff hanger every time one comes to an end. What an amazing actress little Anne is.
@lucycameron Well I only hear about it today as Bel Mooney said she had been binging on it! That’s why I’m late posting tonight, that first episode was long! Will watch more tomorrow! I loved this books when I was a kid!
@maggiemae Ha ha yes they are wondering what’s going on I expect. I think quite a few aren’t bothering, we have seen a few hens out in gardens still, just a few...they can’t keep track of them all but Margaret has a lot & everyone is walking past here on their daily walk so I’m sure some good deed person would report her!!! @lucycameron
@happypat@lucycameron I have been watching it too. The girl playing Anne is wonderful. It's nice to see a young actress without perfect teeth. There seems to be no end in sight regarding the bird flu. It seems to have gone on for much longer this time.
What a shame... still in this cold they might be better off in the warm. Good old Harry helping out :) The grass might recover a bit too and like us, at least they are safe. Pretty scene

Yes the poor hens are in lockdown too.....bird flu on the continent I believe! Lost track of farming issues these days.
I read Anne of Green Gables (in Dutch 'Anne van het groene huis') many years ago. Would love to reread the books.
This is Anne. My childhood favourite
