Eating out al fresco... by happypat

Eating out al fresco...

Nothing exciting to post today but I went into Garstang...drove myself which I was pleased about.
Did a bit of shopping for essentials but noticed all the folk sitting on the benches tucking into fish & chips. The fish & chip shop is right in the centre of the photo.
This is the square outside Booths.

Three good things:
1. Such a warm & balmy day...we sat out in the garden this afternoon for a while.
2. A long queue to get in Booths but it moved quite fast.
3. A cream & jam donut!
Glad to hear you’re able to drive! How nice to have warm weather- even a guy wearing shorts!

Nice shot

Sounds like the perfect day Pat. I bet you enjoyed those donuts!

Good to get a trip out. Eating chips is surely exercise... I've just been to Waitrose but I don't come back with too many treats because I can't get out of there fast enough. Busy at 7pm on a Saturday. Weird isn't it.

A lovely street view

Lovely to be able to capture this. I wish we had Booths down here. I always fit in a trip to the one in Chorley when I’m visiting my daughter.

No eating outside snowing followed with rain - I am jealous

Nice street view.

I feel very dissatisfied with my stew and yoghurt. Cream and jam donut - my absolute favourite

Ooh Pat , just fancy fish and chips !! And such a glorious day to sit outside to enjoy -- without seagulls around !! ha ! Pleased your eye has recovered and able to drive again .

You have to enlighten me on Booths. Never heard of it! Nice capture of this part of town.

@jamibann Booths is a family run chain of supermarkets Issi. Similar to Waitrose & selling as much local produce as they can. They have 28 stores based around the north west of England. We have a brilliant one in Garstang with cafe.

@beryl Ha ha Beryl, yes no seagulls....I laughed when I realised that!

@lucycameron And I feel guilty eating that stodge but it was very nice although not absolutely delicious as I would have hoped!

@tinley23 Never been to the Chorley one but I imagine it’s as nice as them all. They have built an Aldi slap next door in Garstang but they seem to trade quite well together, I go to Aldi for some things but mostly Booths as it’s so pleasant to shop there.

@fueast I would have thought it quiet then...the shops in Garstang are all dead at 7pm...too busy for me this morning but I coped...I must say they are very fussy at Booths...only letting so many in & wiping each trolly for you
February 27th, 2021
@loweygrace Yes lots of shorts this morning...the young ones anyway!
February 27th, 2021
@busylady Very nice but I would have enjoyed a yoghurt as much...I went shopping when I was hungry..fatal!

@carolmw @gijsje @joansmor Thank you....better weather on the way & March on Monday!
February 27th, 2021
Ahh! We had lunch today outside on our deck. It was like a new lease on life just to be able to do that.

Certainly not many people about in this lovely central village shot! Takeaways can be the best for a night out in good weather. We are locked down again purely and simply because several people who were symptomatic went out and about in spite of being told to isolate!

Glad you are able to get out and about again.

The people on the left think it is summer but the rest of the people in the picture aren't so sure. ha ha

@maggiemae Oh I didn’t know that maggie...you will beat it again though I’m sure!
February 27th, 2021
@essiesue The birds & us all thought Spring had sprung!
February 27th, 2021
@onewing it was so warm in the sun, a bit chilly again tonight Babs but we’re getting there!

lovely capture

Wonderful street scene.

@happypat Ah, now I am enlightened! Thank you. :-)
February 28th, 2021
That’s what we sea here too, Pat ; people eating and drinking on benches, low walls, anything they can find and trying to have a good time
February 28th, 2021
A cream and jam doughnut.......oh adopt me now!
February 28th, 2021
Very pretty street scene and large open space. Few people around but those having fish and chips on the bench fill our hearts with hope for the future.
February 28th, 2021
I WANT A DOUGHNUT!!! At least they are still doing queues for Booths - Waitrose numbers seem to have gone up quite a lot. I like a quiet shop even when we don’t have a pandemic!
February 28th, 2021
@fueast all stocking up on their Cabernet!
February 28th, 2021
Funny how the kids are in shorts and everyone else in winter coats! Mmm, fish and chips AND a doughnut for me please!
February 28th, 2021
Isn't it good when 'ordinary' things mean a lot! I'm quite happy to have driven 6 miles to collect some M&S items at their food shop!!! But very strange driving past other empty shops on the way.
Roll on the return to normal....
whatever that was!!
