Our eldest son Brian’s birthday today.
Opening his presents on his birthday morning in NZ.
Later in the day we were flying home, I shan’t say escaping but it felt a bit like it. It was suggested we stay in NZ for safety but we had to get back as our house was up for sale!
I’m so glad we weren’t tempted to hang in for a bit until the virus had moved away....I think they would have been fed up with us by now & so much has happened since.
There was a girl we chatted to on our flight into NZ & I know she was on the same flight as us coming home....no sign of her, I often wonder where she is & if she’s still there.
Three good things:
1. Happy birthday Brian.
2. Harry’s specs mended again.
3. A socially distanced walk with my friend Eileen. Not so much for the walk but for the chat!
A good day to reflect I suppose, although I'd rather look forward than back the year I've had. I've got a friend who is still in New Zealand after going for a short holiday. Still she met someone nice so it worked out OK.
@julzmaioro I think it was better we went home considering the time it’s gone on Julz, might have been turning up on your doorstep looking for a bed!! 🤣🤣
Lovely image from last year. I particularly like the black and white wall hanging. Favourite and/or memorable places and things perhaps? I got a similar thing from the kids a few years back, which I loved.
I'd say you made a good move to get back home a year ago. You had much to attend to.
Thank you all!
A year we will never forget some of us more than others but yes all of us with a new appreciation of life!
