Amble is home to the largest fleet of fishing boats on the North East coast. Most of them are under 10m inshore vessels. Fish caught are white fish (cod, haddock, whiting, plaice etc. Occasionally mackerel & shellfish, prawns, crabs & lobsters.
We had lunch inside the Fish Shack on Monday, first day we were allowed to eat inside!
Three good things:
1. Hoping for a good week weatherise next week, been raining all day & no builders today...only the second time they haven’t been since they started at the beginning of March. A nice three day weekend for them but I know Phil will be doing another job over the weekend!
2. Connie seems to be coping with city life. I’ve seen a photo of her on an escalator in Newcastle upon Tyne.
3. I really like Roman Keating on The One Show on a Thursday & Friday.
A lovely shot Pat - seeing these lobster pots gives me a yearning for the seaside -- perhaps later in the summer I shall find my way to Wales again ! Shame the weather stopped work today - - this continuous weather is so depressing isn't it !
@maggiemae Yes there is Maggie....one of the most well known places...it’s full of tourists in the summer! We have a bungalow called Ambleside here just down that little back lane called that...it has blue gates! How lovely to have your son close to you again! You will be excited & him living in a lovely country! Japan is suffering a bit with the virus I see!
@beryl I do hope you get a trip out Beryl....you will be feeling a bit hemmed in...we want to burst out...it felt weird last weekend being away from home! Better weather to come hopefully, it’s been a rotten May but April was good!
