The poultry marquee is quite interesting, I like hens but there are some really unusual breeds here. The bantams can be very ornate & fancy…I’m not a lover of bantams, they can be a bit highly strung & bad tempered, give me a proper full size hen everyday!
Some lovely eggs though….
Three good things:
1. The plumber has been to give us detailed instruction on the underfloor heating……yes Dave we have listened but as he said ring me if you’re unsure. It’s just a case of turning the dial up as we need it but only slowly as they take time to heat up & vice versa!
2. I have sold a pine chest of drawers at last. Originally sold but she never came for it. Kept promising so we kept lifting it out then we never heard another thing. Advertised it again but almost doubled the price this time…it’s gone within an hour!
3. Bri-wax & wire wool to clean an old dresser.
A great pov looking down the whole length of table . there will be exited farmer's wives , checking to see if their hen's eggs are placed or better still won ! Well done with the sale of the chest and better still for a higher price !
Oh look at all those beautiful big eggs! I see a couple of ducks there too. Re floor heating - its an economic and good way to choose an ambient temperature just to take the chill off. We used 11degC on our floor in another house. Costs too much to rely on warming the whole house from the floor heating. But we had a fireplace in two rooms. Depends on whether you do have other sources of heating.
The eggs look huge. I bought half a dozen 'large' eggs in our supermarket last week and they were a poor excuse for large. I have seen pigeon eggs larger than these. I guess during lockdown you get what you are given.
Glad the chest of drawers went and double the price too. Well done.
@maggiemae We will have a wood burner in the main living room Maggie & we like our bedroom cool plus bathrooms have heated towel rails so I’m beginning to think will we actually have it on during the very cold months…we shall see!
This is so extraordinary compared to our small agriculture shows were there are only a few of each animal!
I think you did well to sell the pine chest of drawers later rather than early!
