Our market town always decorated the High Street very nicely for Armistice Day.
This year I noticed that on the poppies attached to the black posts the names of men & women were named…a nice touch I thought.
They go all round the town & along the Main Street.
Three good things:
1. I had an appointment in Specsavers to fix my broken hearing aid….they did it while I pottered round M&S…..so glad I didn’t have to go back again as it’s quite a drive.
2. Cards & a parcel posted to New Zealand….just hope they land in time for Christmas….the post is very erratic to there at the moment.
3. Harry walked to the village for an appointment so stopped on the way back to join in with the village Remembrance service. He said there were about fifty people there which is a good turn out for a weekday in a smallish village.
What a very poignant memorial. They seem to be marking the occasion much more now. We have the names of soldiers mentioned on soldier shaped boards in the streets where they lived.
Such a wonderful Remembrance Day photo. Bless those who are remembered and their families.
Surely your packages will arrive in NZ before Christmas! Fingers crossed.
That's good to hear.
