A cold foggy afternoon on Blackpool beach at Stargate.
Was sorry to see the tide was in when we arrived but a walk along the promenade with a dog desperate to get on the beach.
Luckily we got to Stargate the tram terminal & where the coastline turns inwards. Here there was very welcome sand & Connies very favourite, sand dunes. She was off in a flash running up & down happy as a dog in muck!
Three good things:
1. So many dogs having walks but so many of them were Huskies. I googled when I got home & there seems to be a Husky club in Blackpool. Sadly they were mostly kept on the lead for some reason…I felt sorry for them.
2. Had a very nice evening last night with friends for a meal at our house.
3. Today is our youngest grandsons birthday.
Happy 8th birthday Finn, we miss you so much & seems so long since we have had a hug.
Let us in please New Zealand!
Connie would of been in 7th heaven.. Huskies need alot of exercise..
Hopefully it won't be too long it can be confirmed our borders open.. the new ormacon may slow it down.. grrr
Such an amazing scene - out of this world if you didn't know otherwise ! Love the gentle rays of the sun trying to break through the fog ( fog all over the UK today ,it seems !! ) It glistens and reflects beautifully on the ripply sea !
Pleased you had a good evening entertaining friends last night . fav
@julzmaioro There is talk of another lockdown here Julz as the Omicron variation romps on but I do hope Boris resists, he is under a load of pressure from all sides for various reasons but he promised no more lockdowns….there is no evidence it’s any more dangerous & we are mostly all vaccinated. The business industry is almost on its knees & cost of living & interest rates going up. These scientists are scare mongers & we know from their decisions in Foot & Mouth times that they made the wrong ones then big time.
A stunning image! I was glad to read your response to Julia, Omicron is described as a bad cold. I can’t tell you how many times I worked when I was suffering from a bad cold. Good grief!
Perfect title for your photo. It's beautiful. Connie does get you out and about and you sound very amused by her antics!
I do know how how you feel about missing hugs from family in far flung parts. Evie is 6 months old today....I think we can plan quite soon but it's a thought!!!
Omicron has taken hold here too and I feel more and more cases will appear as Christmas gets closer. Summer here too and we have only just come out of the latest lockdown.
My sister in the UK has just been diagnosed with Covid. I spoke to her last night and as she lives alone she will be spending Christmas by herself.
@onewing that’s a sad thought about your sister. Kind thoughts for a quick recovery.
Pat - what a gorgeous image. Fav. I’ll bet Connie loves racing around the sand dunes with her nose in overdrive! Hopefully you’ll be able to see those kiwi grandkids soon.
@onewing I bet you feel quite upset your sister is going to be on her own. Hoping she is only lightly affected but it’s quite scary when you find out you have it especially on her own. It’s much milder when you e had the jab, I felt like I just had a cold but being in her own is sad. Hope she has good neighbours to keep an eye on her. She will be free after ten days!
