A very hot day….I have never seen so many people at a show! I bet it passes 50,000 when the ticket entries have been added up.
Over 85 vintage tractors there & a good many of them did the main ring parade.
Can you see Harry?
We’ve been out for supper so too late to comment but I have lots of photos in the bank!
@phil_howcroft I was just thinking the same about the hat. Perhaps he is so speedy it blew away… A lovely lineup of beautifully kept tractors. Harry would have arrived home with lots of stories about his day.
Oh, I love this! My dad would too. It reminds me of visiting my brother in Kent a few years ago with dad. My brother and his wife have a small holding and my brother was discing one of the small fields with their very old tractor. Johnnie asked dad if he wanted a shot, and dad jumped on the tractor and whizzed around the field, doing a great job. We just stood and stared. We all knew he'd worked on a farm when he was young, but had never seen him behind the wheel of a tractor! We talk about it still. He was in his element!
Yes Barry is the one to the right of the middle with shorts on but no hat!
The only hat he ever wears if it’s below zero & then he might put on a woolly hat! There were lots of lovely straw hats for sale but I knew better than to waste my money buying one!
He enjoyed every minute & came home with a slight hoarse voice from talking!! @jamibann
What a lovely surprise your dad gave you….I’m not in the least surprised to hear he could drive a tractor….he sounds exactly that sort of man! He would have loved walking round all those tractors but it was the chat Harry enjoyed the best! I expect your brother hired your dad on the spot!
