I had to go into Blackpool today as it was the nearest & most straightforward place to take the denim jacket back.
Well I thought it was but the main way in was closed & I had to detour.
That is definitely my last visit to a Blackpool fir the forceable future!
It was a nightmare….full of holidays makers, I could hardly park never mind walk.
Lots of shops closed, Debenhams & Clark’s shoes….plenty of shops if you’re young & trendy but not for me!
I took a little detour to the promenade before I came home!
Three good things:
1. There was a homeless man doing stirling work by the parking meter. He had a little pot for the money we tipped him after explaining how to work the meter!
2. Waterstones book shop is still in business!
3. On the way out of town I had to detour up a street with lots of holiday makers. I couldn’t believe it as they were loads of the poor things queuing outside the hotels with suitcases waiting to check in…..change over day obviously!
Another world!
Not too many people on the promenade. I used to like shopping, but these days, I find no pleasure in it. I do a fair bit on line, but just lately “!item is currently unavailable “ is equally annoying me 😂

It’s easier shopping online much as I feel it’s the wrong thing to do for the sake of the High street.
Your trip to Blackpool sounds like a bit of a nightmare! It was very busy in Whitby too, although not so many on the beach as the weather wasn't too warm.
In spite of your nightmare - or rather daymare !! this looks such an old fashioned scene ,and your title fits the bill as I smile looking at the two to the right in their sun hats looking out to sea ! ha ha !! it really tickles me - each time I re view the scene !
@busylady Very warm in Blackpool Judith….they were desperate to get on the beach. Just a slip of sand on the left as usual….it doesn't often cover that bit!
