I have just finished reading this book by Giles Brandreth.
Our daughter bought it fir her mother in law Ruth for Christmas so I borrowed it.
A real block buster its taken me a good while to get through it.
I enjoyed it very much & whatever opinion you hold about our Royal family the sheer volume of work her Majesty did over her long reign beggars belief!
She devoted her whole life to her country.
Three good things:
1. Another beautiful day.
2. Our NZ daughter in laws birthday today.
3. Our youngest son & his partner enjoyed the same Rod Stewart concert that @julzmaioro went to last night.
I'm glad you both enjoyed it. I'm not sure it's for me though. I'm still only half way through the Barack Obama memoir, bought for me a year past Christmas!
Sounds like an interesting read. I do like Gyles Brandreth. I saw a review to his autobiography Odd Boy Out a couple of months ago. Have you read that book too?
Oh that's an interesting volume. I would love to get an opportunity to read it..
Perhaps the library will have a copy.
And the author was quite close to the family so no doubt kindly written.
Would be a good read. She certainly gave her life to The Commonwealth..
Missed seeing you mentioned me in your narrative.. Did Ants enjoy the concert.. we certainly did.
Worth trying ‘something rhymes with purple’ with Susie Dent and GB on bbc sounds..
