The Park Hotel Preston. by happypat

The Park Hotel Preston.

This is the hotel where @maggiemae mum stayed in during her travels in the UK. in 1927?

I just happened to have a photo of it taken on my recent walk with friends so here you are maggie!
It was THE hotel to stay in in Preston & overlooks the beautiful Miller Park & River Ribble.

That awful monstrosity next to it is a building put up by Lancashire County Council & both buildings are used as offices
My daughters mum in law's father was head gardener there after he retired from farming.
Such a spectacular and stately structure...much more character than it's newer neighbor. I'm certain a stay there was quite an event. And such beautiful grounds in the foreground. Lovely photo, Pat.

A grand building in lovely surroundings. Lets hope the trees will grow and eventually hide the monstosity next door.

I did see a picture of it on the net but not like this. My one was down the road. Mum said she was served a lovely dinner by a maid and a butler here! Thanks Pat - so interesting!

Well that is a neat piece of history, and even with the more modern building next to it, it still maintains its beauty

How sad that such a beauty would be interrupted by its ugly companion
