By chance Alex & I decided to go across the fields & down to the river so that I could catch high tide.
We found around eight sheep trapped by their long wool on the briers.
This poor thing was stuck in the netting by its horns!
We went to get gloves & cutters & Harry & Alex cut them all free.
The guy that has put sheep on has brought complete.y the wrong type of sheep for this land....Lonks which have horns & long wool....they will keep getting trapped until the hedges are cut!
oh my gosh - what a terrible situation!! So cool that you guys were able to help - maybe you can share a pic of what is going on to the land owner so he can fix the fences or change the kind of sheep he chose.
It was so good that you were able to act as the good Samaritans and free these sheep - this farmer could not be a local and had not done his homework on the suitability of the sheep for the terrain !! Hope someone puts him right for the sake of his sheep ! A lovely action shot Pat
I'm so glad you were there to help or goodness knows what might have become of them!!! I'm amazed that someone could buy sheep and graze them on unsuitable land - must be his first sheep surely! I hope someone educates him or maybe the RSPCA needs to get involved if not
I hope that farmer gets told! Its good to rescue sheep - I'm always looking for ones that are cast and John goes over and heaves them back to their feet!
