This is a good photo of these yucky things! Looking at information - they are called a moon jellyfish - their sting does not penetrate the skin so they are harmless. I know that in some places - like Indonesia, you can't swim on the beach as there are portuguese-men-of-war jellyfish.
Excellent photo of this interesting jellyfish. Glad to read @maggiemae's comment about this type being harmless. My daughter, Molly, was viciously and traumatically stung by a Portugese-man-of-war when she was six years old. The toxins burned through her skin clear to the bone on her little leg. She had horrible whip like scars on her leg for years. I'll never forget pulling her out of the water with those deadly tentacles wrapped around her leg.
I never trust these, since there are some very poisonous ones., but most are harmless. But the increase of the watertemperature in the ocean leads to a massive increase in jelly fish @peggysirk so sorry to hear what happend to your daughter
