Corgarff Castle by jamibann

Corgarff Castle

I like the minimalism of this view and the stripe of blue sky highlighting the castle, as we returned to the car park on Friday after our walk.

'Visit Scotland' website tells me that Corgarff Castle was built in 1550 and was converted into a barracks for government troops in 1748. The last military use of the castle was to control smuggling of whisky between 1827 and 1832.

Welcome to November!

I do like this very much. It really puts me in mind of the painter Andrew Wyeth's Christina's World.
