Fascinating indeed, I would be terrified of riding in a pack like this - sure I would fall over and cause a catastrophe! Your shot shows them really well at this angle.
@pusspup That's what would worry me too ... you could cause a terrible disaster by touching a wheel, or by making an unexpected move! And I'd hate to be stuck in the middle of the pack, although the drafting aspect of that must be good!
What a great shot with all the cyclsts all clustered together. I have at last got round to downloading my camera pictures from our Wales trip so I have also posted a tour of Britain pic today! All my 365 and FB posts from the week were from phone images - so much easier and quicker!
Wow that’s a fair sight….love all the cycle helmets together like that. It always amazes me how near to each other they get without banging into each other! Quite an excitement for Ballater!
I recognize the site. Today and yesterday you mentioned the term peloton. Only recognizing this term as a stationary bike advertised on TV I looked it up. From what I read and see in this photo is the purpose of this ride for all the riders to stay closely packed together?
@randystreat They move around within the peloton, and I believe they wait for the right moment to challenge the front riders. All very technical and I don't profess to know much about the tactics, but I'm sure there are plenty.
The grouping of the syslists is great for photography - however, I've watched the Tour de France for year (on TV) but still have no idea of the rules. I've a feeling it is very complicated.
