Cambus O' May Suspension bridge by jamibann

Cambus O' May Suspension bridge

This historic bridge is just outside the village of Ballater and was seriously damaged during the floods earlier this month. Caravans and mobile homes came crashing down the river, hurtling against the bridge, coming from Ballater upstream. It will be a while before it is fixed.

You can see the bridge, before the floods, in the following link if you're interested. Uploaded for my odds and sods album. http://www.drookitagain.co.uk/coppermine/displayimage.php?pid=1193
It does not look very safe.

Oh dear that is very sad. So much devastation from flooding this year my heart goes out to those effected.

So unfortunate! It does take a while to recover from such devastation. I did enjoy viewing the pics in your link.

A terrible shame. Good shot of the damage. I, too, enjoyed looking at the photos of the area. Braemar is a picturesque town.

@pennystot Hi Penny - Ballater and Braemar are small villages in the North East of Scotland, inland from Aberdeen. I was brought up in this area of Scotland. I see you are English, but living in Burgundy. I'm Scottish living in the Paris area! :-)
