Your Paris photos are almost always a great learning experience for me! I checked out this incredible statue online and learned that it's one of six statues (from six continents) lining the space in front of the Musée d'Orsay. It was interesting reading about the history of the six pieces and viewing some photos of all six statues. It must have been amazing to see them all in person. :-)
@gaylewood Yes, they're lovely and sit just outside the main entrance. I believe they were fashioned for the Universal Exhibition in 1878. I took a few shots of them as I was waiting for my friend to arrive. :-)
