Mike and I headed to Moraine State Park today, and it turned out hundreds of other people thought of the same idea. With no intention of getting out of the car, we simply enjoyed the ride, the blue sky, and the sunlight sparkling on the lake. A flock of chickens on the side of the road surprised us on the way home; and luckily, Mike could back up and I could reach my camera. While all the hens wandered away, the rooster stayed a while just outside my open window. We laughed as we watched him strut his stuff all important-like as he rejoined the hens.
Just a few days ago, I photographed one of my art glass roosters and wrote about my love of these cocky birds; and, today, there we were watching one tend his flock. What a gift!
I praise you, Lord, for the gift of watching this handsome rooster tend his flock.
