Jim Portrait b and w

For my mentoring group assignment shooting black and white with artificial light. My sweet husband of almost 51 years was willing to be a model. This was shot with two off camera flashes and edited in Silver EFEX. Do you prefer this version or the high key in my extras album?
Thanks so much for your visits, comments, suggestions, favs

@trm I like it a lot as I do color efex

Tough choice, but this is my preferred one. I prefer the detail and slightly muted colour. For me the high-key just doesn 't work.

I do no portraits at all, so am really over my head in any comments about these. Basically, it's fun to 'meet' your Jim! And I think this is my preference as the contrast with his face and the shirt in the other one feels too strong to me. I'd maybe darken a bit, but that's probably because I tend not to be drawn to high key as much as I am natural or heightened shades of gray.

@taffy interesting. Usually I don't like high key at all but for some reason I like it better in this shot!

I prefer this one Jane. I think this version shows his face to better advantage and the shirt is less distracting. I'd like to see the shirt lightened a bit in this version and Jim's head darkened a tad.
