Okay, Two was bouncing around the bedroom before three o'oclock. So I got up after a while and decided to look out the window. The moon was brilliant. Rush around out on the stoop (yes, Sharron in my bathrobe it's getting cooler). But I could not get anything but a burned out blob. And the clouds were beautiful. Finally got detail on the moon no clouds. So went for manual focus. Got the clouds no detail on the moon. So I selected the moon from one picture and placed it over the moon in this one. CHEAT! CHEAT! Sorry but at 3 in the morning all my learning just isn't kicking in. There must have been a way to handle this but this is what I saw. Not sure if this is the super moon or if it is tonight.
Brilliant processing, if you can't make it, fake it I say. It is very difficult to get both the moon and the clouds in detail together. This is a great way to do it, and a fave for pulling it off :)
Ahahahahah Really Joan, we are so often doing similar things at the same time. Cracks me up. Weren't the cloud formations just spectacular? I don't know about you but it's going to be a long day today. I'll be ready for a nap mid afternoon but so glad we got to see this!
All the bean counters must be up early today! I saw the moon but elected to drink coffee instead of taking photos. I admire your fortitude to get the photo. It's lovely!
Great shot, Fav! I tried with no success last night. But that was at 10 pm. Joan, confession is good for the soul they say. Glad you grabbed the robe.... :D
Fav from me for: (A) getting up at 3 a.m. to even consider taking a photo -- even if not planned in advance, (B) thinking of layering at 3 a.m. and (C) ending up with a shot that when I saw it, said to myself, 'wow, that is exactly what it looked like last night'!
hahaha - love your creativity and commentary as well - fabulous presentation sure beats the heck out of the poor shots I tried for this early morning. Nice job :)
Super moon shot! And bravo for all the effort that went into it! So difficult to get the definition in the moon and the clouds at the same time. Practically impossible. I too have been trying this past few nights (not at 3 am) with limited success.
