Reconstructed at Art Institute: 1976-77
This is a special room I have visited many, many times. In fact, our university used to rent it for various events as well. It's a familiar room that I've photographed many times, but today, I had only a few minutes to take photos and I stepped in and tried to think of a way to photograph it that I hadn't tried before. I wanted to present it in a way that would make it feel like a fresh take on a familiar place.
@amandal -- thanks for liking the tilt in the angle! It was fun to see it this way, practically with my head on the floor! @vankrey Thanks for the fav and for noticing the allure I found in it. I've visited this room many, many, many times over the years. @taffy - it's so fun to try to capture a room I know well but trying to "see" it differently and capture it. Of course I was at AIC today -- I took the photo there :)
@agedrunner@anazad511 -- thanks for your comments! @stephomy-- your comment made me smile! I have gone there many times and still find new ways to see its beauty. @taffy -- oh, so sorry . . . I was accompanied by 7 college students and my mother so I didn't do more than photograph this one room after going to the members' lounge to get the $5 discount for parking. @adamj - next time you are in Chicago, we'll include this place on our photo walk!
