Colombian Guadua Bamboo

Who knew -- that Colombia has 70 species of bamboo and that it plays a significant role in the culture and economy of the country! This photo was taken in the Botanic Gardens, where the Medellin Bookfair was held. Historically, this was the place of drug dealings and dead bodies being abandoned. Today, it's been beautified and cultural events take place here.

I always think of Japan when I think of bamboo: http://365project.org/jyokota/365/2014-06-10
I think I do too - Japan! They recognised the strength, suppleness and artwork of the bamboo! Nicely shown here!

So hard to get colour in mainly green shots, but you've definitely succeeded here. Interesting narrative too.

As a employee of a lumber yard I have learned that bamboo is one of the best products for replanting and quacking having a useable product. A very green product.

Opps typo quickly not quacking.
