Or so I had heard before I went, and indeed, people were fixing cars, shoes, and mysterious other things on the streets. It reminded me of my father who died in my childhood but one of the strongest memories I have is that he could fix anything.
My father fixed everything with copper wire! Not a mechanic but then lawyers fix other things! This composition reminds me of something arty but I can't remember the name!
I’m not sure about quite so much negative space though the framing of the scene is wonderful. I had a thought about many of your B and W Cuba photos…I think they would be wonderful printed on metal. What do you think?
@jgpittenger -- I see what you mean. I cut it 4 x 5 proportion for Instagram, but my preferred cut is 4 x 6. I've never printed on metal but I might have to give it a try on your recommendation!
@ljmanning@antonios@taffy@milaniet@cutekitty@jgpittenger@amyk@rickster549@joysabin Thank you all for your comments and favs. I have always liked nighttime photography but in Cuba, it took on a whole new dimension because people are out on the streets, working and playing outside at night and I didn't have to fear for personal safety. I felt at ease walking around with my camera. The lack of coordinated city lighting also made for very interesting lighting throughout the city. I promise -- color photos coming up after I make my way through my black ad white ones :)
I like this little glimpse of every day life showing through the opening. I, like Jane, think maybe just a little cropped out of the outside edges might work.
