My get-pushed-70 partner, @julieco challenged me to capture "a clash of two cultures." I took a few photos in our Center, where we have items from around the world exhibited with our international collection of books. Some things were purchased specifically for our Center, like the bus from Haiti that my husband brought back after he spent a week there helping make books for children in their local language of Haitian Creole rather than only having them read school books in French. The doll came from a flea market sale. Other things simply "appeared" as gifts from various people who visited our collection, and left gifts for us. I have no idea where the wooden nesting dolls came from, but it's an example of such a gift. And they are all placed on a cushion cover from India.
I like the image. Is the clash the colors and patterns? Your eye for design from quilting applies here as together, it all goes well together, from my perspective.
Hi, for some reason I didn't get any of the links that you sent me so this is the first view for me of your response to my challenge. I really like this one, although it's not at all what I expected!
