Get-Pushed-80 @lifepause Jae challenged me to "a person or people in motion."
We've had a LOT of snow this past week, so I've been staying indoors, or staying in my car shuttling from place to place. But today, Taffy @Taffy, Daniel @danielwsc and Annette @anwan and I went on a Meetup to Chicago Chinatown for the Lunar New Year Parade. Unexpectedly, a group of bagpipers went by! I quickly switched to Shutter Priority mode, which I had pre-set to slow just for this challenge, and snapped this image. Taffy noted that the "Welcome to Chinatown" sign remained in focus, showing that I wasn't panning.
@lifepause -- thanks for the challenge! I had fun trying various shots, and almost posted one of the lion dancers in motion but because of their elaborate costumes, you couldn't really see "people" so I went with this one.
It was such a great afternoon! Fingers and toes are all warmed up! This shot turned out so well for your get pushed -- and who would have expected bagpipers? Very cool!
Nothing says Chicago like Irish bagpipers at the Chinese New Year parade! This turned out really well and I'm impressed you had the presence of mind to work on your "assignment" in the middle of the parade. It was so nice to finally meet you, and I hope to see you again soon (as if! world traveler!) If you look on my page you will see one of the photos of you.
