Sandhill Crane by kvphoto

Sandhill Crane

This was the first time I saw a Sandhill Crane in a seated position. They are really tall and have long legs... in this shot they must be folded up underneath the body. I've mostly seen them high in the sky in large flocks or walking around in small groups. For more info about this bird: https://www.allaboutbirds.org/guide/Sandhill_Crane/id
I love the red around his eye
