I went out to my front porch yesterday evening and was confronted with some lovely colours. I grabbed my phone and went out to my usual bench sitting place and captured this lovely picture.
Further over to my right I could see rain falling that was also coloured but not as nice as this. I always remember the saying from my childhood, red sky at night, shepherds delight, meaning that an evening red sky and it will be a good day tomorrow, on the south coast where my grandmother lived you replaced the shepherd with the word fisherman.
It is also the reverse for both shepherds and fisherman if it’s a red sky in the morning it is a warning. Knowing the fisherman living near my Gran I know they took this quite seriously before deciding to go out.
As for me the red sky at night means my dinners cooked right, and I'm going in to enjoy it right now as the fisherman caught it for me. Yes lovely Fish Pie.
