Just a few yards down from the castle I shared yesterday, you come to this old farm building made from the lovely local Cotswold stone. I just loved the shape and the fact that it has been looked after.
This barn belongs to the Castle Farm and is known as Pilgrims Barn and dates to the mid 14th century, say 1350. Now I don't know whether this is the same, but when I hear a place name which includes the word pilgrims, it often means a building where pilgrims have rested on their journeys.
When I looked closer I thought that it could be nice converted to a private home, but would need very strict planning permission, at least the owners have put pretty plant holders made of half beer barrels outside.
Well I wouldn't mind staying here, perhaps not in winter though, or if there are rumours about ghosts around the castle buildings.
