I was looking at some of my captures over the years of geocaching and just had to pick out this place where I loved to roam the most. It's just behind my village and on the hillside that looks down towards my bungalow.
You could say that as the Magpie flies, it's only about 800yds away, but it's easier to take the car on a circular route and walk in from the top. I honestly couldn't climb up the mountain, as I call it, to get up to this place.
It's a very quiet when you are on your own, just the sound of wildlife. The problem today is that my age and disabilities stop me from getting there. Also, up to a year ago I had the confidence to be out alone, but know my trust in other walkers has disappeared. Perhaps I watch to many police and crime programmes, particularly "Britain’s most Evil Killers”.
It will just have to be a memory or dream these days, if I did go out alone to places like this, I'm more likely to be bashed by my family for doing such a stupid thing.
That’s sad Heather…you can still go up in the car though & park up, get out & breathe the air? You could do with a really good buggy! I feel for you, it’s not so good losing your mobility.
It's such a pity that you have lost your confidence Heather. If I Lived nearer I would love to take you out and about. But you do have your lovely photos for your memories. I love the leading line.
