Under Attack

The newly born Curlew chicks had wandered close to the path by the burn this morning causing the parent birds to panic whenever someone walked along. They were swooping very low and a lot closer than this photo suggests. The parent Redshanks were doing something similar but I didn't see their chicks.
Another wet and windy day with it feeling cold in the wind that got up to 40mph at times.
What a brilliant capture of this bird. I love the pov - they have beautiful markings.

Is that a type of hummingbird? great shot and great story.

@prettycheeses No much bigger than a hummingbird. They are normally about 55cm in length with a wingspan of about 100cm.
