Dreich first thing and it didn't really get much better. At least it is mild though with little or no wind. Never happy if it had been windy the fog would probably have disappeared. Mind you gale force fog is not uncommon either.

Do a lot of people have wood fires? or do they use peat? We don't know these things down under!!

@777margo A mixture of everything Margo. Peat, Coal and Wood are used but most new houses use ground heat system and may have a decorative fire which will mainly use peat or wood.

@777margo I don't have an open fire in this house. My first house we did have "a right" to cut peat. Yes you need to cut it and then allow it time to dry before bringing it home to a dry store.
