The top of the neighbor's fence is a lovely place to wait for a passing fly. This fellow's tail had begun changing to the fence color, they are amazing chameleons!

TOTALLY Half and Half! I so envy you your Texas anoles! They're just beautiful! I had no idea they'd change color like that, but what a stunning example! (How do they know?!!!)

I read up on how lizards change colors, they have layers of iridescent cells that reflect light in such a way as to absorb the surrounding color. (That is not the scientific explanation, but it gives you some idea of how they do it.) What I loved about this guy was the fact he let me get close enough to get a decent shot!
