Outdoor shopping malls by louannwarren

Outdoor shopping malls

For many years we had huge shopping malls with the shops all together under one roof. For the last 10-15 years those have given way to outdoor shopping centers. We have one just two miles from our home, there are only a couple of big malls in the Dallas area now. I walked the outdoor shopping area the other day (between rain showers) to photograph the architecture style of the shops and restaurants for this week’s FOR.
This is fabulous Lou Ann. I love all the textures and the rounded shapes. A nicely composed image.

Funny how trends change! I think outdoor shopping areas would be nicer in every way than large shopping malls except if it’s raining!

We still have one smaller shopping mall in our area- but what's inside has changed drastically since I moved here. The Sears closed and only JC Penny hangs on for the moment. Outlets are the thing around here. I like how you've repeated the circular lines in the roof and lamp post. Great catch!

Nice capture. I see you used your iPhone. A number of years ago, the security guard asked me to stop taking photos at a shopping center!

@danette there are no photo restrictions here. It was early enough and folks weren’t really shopping yet.
