I took these candleholders out of my China cabinet to sit on my dining room table for Christmas. In the back of my mind I could hear Mother saying “Lou Ann, polish those candlesticks before you put them on that table!” Isn’t it wonderful the things our mothers said when we were growing up that still come to mind, many years later. (I really will polish them, maybe today.)
A wonderful shot and I had a little smile - yes my mother would have said the same - and everything would have been pristine before being put on display for anyone to see!! But sometime things look quite pretty with as they say a "patina " on them !
Looks great for the festive season. Those words sound very familiar, not only was it said to me - I'm pretty sure they have passed my lips too my daughters too.
Beautiful decorations! I had to smile at your memory. My mother used to offer to polish my silver and brass when she came to visit. I think she had given up on me!
What a lovely festive photo Lou Ann!
