Resting after a huge adventure in which she found herself inside the house, then got caught by the cat! We instantly growled at the cat, she let it go and it flew to another window flapped its wings feebly then just sat there! I could get quite close and discover the different colours! Its a red admiral.
Thanks guys - @lornareid and @tonygig and @boogie and @hjbenson and @onehappyday and especially @marlboromaam , @karenann and @hudamor ! Butterflies normally are photographed with their wings wide but this poor butterfly was too tired. I could get up within 2cm from it and it didn't twitch! I think looking at the colours on the wing from the horizontal gives a new light!
