World's biggest Lily by maggiemae

World's biggest Lily

Our lovely cabbage tree is a member of the Lily family. Hard to believe as the flowers are nothing like a lily! All the flax like leaves come down all year round and wind themselves round the lawnmower's rotor shaft and eventually the poor mower is strangled!
I didn't know it was of the lily family. Ti kouka in te reo Maori. Our trees cause leaf mayhem all over the street due to the wind factor here. Love the gorgeous detail in your photo.

@karenann The cabbage tree has such depth in itself if it is healthy! Part of it is completely dark!
