This is actually Kaka Point Beach down on the east coast of the South Island. The beaches down here are pristine and beautiful but the weather is generally cold and you don't find people sitting on the sand. I like the light and dark in this photo! (the white spots are sheep)
It was taken some years ago and early morning sun lit the beach up!
Living in Victoria, one gets used to cold, windy beaches! Sometimes that's when they are most beautiful. I love this shot with the colours. My favorite bit though is the sheep! Not many places here where you can see that!
It's a lovely sight, with the green hills and sheep in the background - what is it with east coast beaches and lack of surf? This could be a river if you had not described a beach.
