Or madam, as the case may be! These are two Kea high up on the viewing platform for the viaduct in my other album's lastest photo. The one on the left is obviously a junior and is bringing the senior one a gift. He huddles low and shuffled forward holding this item he found. Senior bird takes no notice at all. After this photo, junior shuffled further forward but senior just jumped off this rock and was away! I felt sad for junior who looked so sorry for himself!
Keas are such funny birds! We went to Kapiti Island a while ago where they are notorious for raiding backbacks and snatching food from people. I got mobbed while eating a biscuit! I love the way the light here has caught the colours and iridescence of their feathers.
