The Big Banks by maggiemae

The Big Banks

Two wonderful Oamaru buildings that were banks in the 19th Century. One is now a well known bank and the other is an Art Gallery. I am practicing my settings for focus, light and movement! Sorry about the car mirror - if I chopped it off my husband would have been very annoyed!
If you don't like it, and are patient you can clone it out and turn it into part of the sidewalk. I like the effects you got with the setting and light.

@olivetreeann I have a retouching tool but that made it just looked blurred and it was right by her foot so next time.....!

Love the whole candid ... great pov and lighting! And great architecture too! I like the mirror there and we don't want hubby to get annoyed. :)

@maggiemae It doesn't really destroy the picture in a sense- it makes you feel as if you're sitting in the car watching the scene unfold before you. So don't be too bothered by it.

Nice light and good processing too. I think the mirror adds a little context, gives the shot something of a 'stakeout' feel, waiting for the bad guys to exit the bank.

Very well done AND if you're talking about BIG BANKS this is an illustrative example. They are too big to fail....

great street shot, I like what you did with the lighting too, and I like Micks comment above about the stakeout. It adds a little extra to the feel.
