This is a picture of a haircut! I did some calculations and found that if he had gone to a hairdresser for the last 40 years, he would have paid about $5400! So I've saved him that. It was one of my occupations in the past so I do know how to do it.
He is often called HJ as there are so many Johns around. His father, Burt was HJ (standing for Herbert James ), he is (standing for Herbert John) and our son is HJ (standing for Hamilton John).
I go to the hairdresser for my hair, but I've cut K's hair (easy - straight across the back) and I've cut H's hair since a hairdresser once cut it and gave him such a rudely-short fringe, he looked like a little thug. I reckon I do a better job than they did and I'm saving myself $10 a pop :)
I have also cut my husband's and son's hair for the last 22 and 21 years respectively...taught myself...have saved a ton of money. My original razor set just gave up last fall!
Nice job...he looks quite respectable!! lol
I am with you ,Maggiemae -why pay for a job you can do yourself ,& usually as good if not even better than the so called professional !! I also used to cut my late husband's hair & now cut Gary.s Hair & trim Alfie( the dog ) In fact Alfie had a trim yesterday -- he doesn't need a heavy fur coat in this weather !!
Great shot, Maggiemae. My husband has a whole lot less hair than yours but I don't do his ; ) I've tried a couple of times with the clippers and it just scares me. Of course, no one but me would notice a mistake on his head!!! Nice to think about all the money you have saved.
You have made a darn good job of that maggiemae & he has lots of hair still so even better!! Harry has his cut at our nieces & pays £5 a go so that mounts up over the years!!
He has an impish look about him. Like he has already played a practical joke on you and you haven't discovered it yet. Guess that's the mark of a good photo, there is a story in it.
Nice job...he looks quite respectable!! lol
